So, yet another fan-fic from me after a long break from writing (Damned GCSEs). Anyway, my writing skills are now better than before and I hope you'll enjoy the first chapter.

CHAPTER 1: The Shaman Lord
“Data, the very fabric of all the digital worlds and of all their Digimon, is an odd thing. It can maintain and sustain Digimon, or it can be used against them. It can be secure and safe or volatile and raging. All matter in a digital world is made of data and all worlds, even ours, will return to data someday,” Susanoomon announced to an army-sized audience full of humanoid Digimon, including the red-armoured Agnimon, white-armoured Wolfmon and more of the elemental warriors. Susanoomon wrenched himself from his throne and stood up, revealing the true glory of his red, blue and gold armoured form.  “I had a dream, my people. A dream sent by the gods. We are to attack Capital and destroy Yggdrasil. Then, this world will unravel and the gods will be free to create the world anew.” Susanoomon bellowed, his audience slightly stunned by his decision. A larger Digimon, with crimson red armour and a reptilian head, equipped with three grand horns stepped forward from the crowd and knelt before Susanoomon.

“What of the knights, Lord Susanoomon?” The hulking soldier rasped; his voice was obviously weathered by time.

“The Royal Knights you mean? What can those eleven fools do against myself and this army, General? I’ll have you know I killed two of those wretches with my own two hands.” Susanoomon replied, visually frustrated with the question.

“Not just that, my liege, they have a small army of perfect level Digimon, including a couple of thousand Knightmon. I mean, we severely outnumber them but apart from you, myself and MagnaGarurumon we can offer only adult levels.” The general murmured.

“You are not to question the Gods’ will KaizerGreymon!” Susanoomon snapped. “We leave for Capital tomorrow at dawn. And KaizerGreymon, I’ve left a surprise for the knights should we fail. Do not worry. We’ve already won.”

Capital was a huge city, surrounded by a high stone wall in the shape of a circle. There were four entrances into the city: the north, west, east and south entrances. Inside the walls were all kinds of Digimon: reptiles, mammals, dragons, puppets and more were all present. There were market stalls and homey houses as far as the eyes could see. There were also four watch towers in the corners of the city and a huge tower in the centre where the three great angels lived and from where they governed the city.

A large and beautiful house sat in the very north of the city, next to the north gate. All the rooms were the same crimson hue, fit with four-post beds of the utmost quality. This was home to the Royal Knights.

“Magnamon, Get up ya’ lazy douche!” A voice boomed across the house. In one room the blue-skinned, golden-armoured knight winched himself out of bed.

“Why so soon?” Magnamon moaned. The door swung open by the hand of a white and red armoured knight with a stunning scarlet cape.

“Because I, Dukemon, command it! I, Dukemon....I like it. I think I’ll make that my catchphrase.” The knight roared playfully.

“Ooh, goodie, a catchphrase. That won’t annoying at all!” Magnamon replied sarcastically. “Anyway, it’s the weekend, why’d you get me up so early, it’s only...” Magnamon glance at his bedside clock. “Uh, never mind. Who’s on duty today?”

“You and me, buddy. Come on, let’s go. Alforce and Examon will be waiting for us to take over.”

As the sky darkened over Capital, Magnamon and Dukemon were waiting for the knights who were on night duty to switch with them as they took their spot by the north gate. It had been an easy day patrol wise, but they were tired even so.

“Geez, what’s taking them so long? They should’ve been here over ten minutes ago.” Magnamon yawned as he slunk down against the wall into a sitting position.

“You don’t think something has happened do you? That’s the only reason they’re ever late.” Dukemon asked, but Magnamon decided it was best for the question to remain rhetorical as he was just as worried. “You know, I’ve known you all my life, we trained for this job together and you still shut yourself off from me. You’ve got to talk to me. We’re best friends.”

“I’m worried, Dukemon. I know something bad is happening. My mother was an angel, she could sense these things. I suppose I got some of that power too.” Dukemon sighed.

“Your mother’s not dead you know.” He replied.

“She might as well be.” Magnamon spat and turned away from Dukemon as the conversation fell into silence.

Another of the knights launched into few. He wore vibrant pink armour and had four golden ribbons jutting out of his armour. He was also wielding a large golden shield with a pink cross on it.

“Guys, guys, guys, you’ve got to help!” He shouted. Magnamon stood up.

“What’s up, RhodoKnightmon?” Magnamon asked casually.

“The Shaman Lord! He’s back! Susanoomon is back!” RhodoKnightmon shouted.

“Wait, slow down a moment!” Dukemon gasped.

“He’s got an army, guys a whole frickin’ army! It’s huge. Tens, maybe even hundreds of thousands, all marching on the south gate.”

The three knights stood on the south wall looking at the huge army that spanned across the fields outside the city walls. Their own army began to gather. Angewomon archers stood on the walls ready to fire their celestial arrows as soon as the call came. The bulky, armoured Knightmon stood on the walls and before the gate, ready to charge when the draw gate dropped.

“Rhodo,” Dukemon began. “You’re in charge before Omegamon arrives. Give us our places, sir.”

“Right...Dukemon you’re going to be our air support. Summon your steed.” RhodoKnightmon replied.

“Come forth! Zero ARMS: Grani!” Dukemon roared as a light flashed in the sky and a crimson red floating platform in the shape of a dragon descended to Dukemon’s feet. He picked up his lance, Gram and his shield, Aegis before stepping onto Grani and floating down to just above the friendly troops.

“What about me, sir?” Magnamon asked eagerly.

“Weapon up and command the troops on the walls. Stay and fight with them.” RhodoKnightmon declared before leaping off the wall to join the Knightmon at the front. Magnamon looked across the troops he was given. He’d never had the chance to command any troops before and was enjoying the power already.

“Fire on my command!” Magnamon shouted. “Maim! Zero ARMS: Olivier!” He roared in a similar fashion to Dukemon. Once again, a light flashed and a pure-white long sword slid into Magnamon’s hands.

Susanoomon’s army began to draw near and RhodoKnightmon adopted his battle stance.

“Drop the gate!” He bellowed and a Knightmon turned a wheel to drop the drawbridge, revealing the enemy army running right towards them.

“FIRE!” Magnamon screamed and the light arrows began to pierce into enemy soldiers with ease. Grani began to launch blasts from its mouth that ripped entire groups of soldiers to pieces in a single shot. RhodoKnightmon took a deep breath in and lifted his head up.

“Charge!”

Nice, though obviously I need to look up Zero ARMS again, not remembering anything about an Olivier... or is that your own creation?

Liking the personalities, though Rhodo's doesn't seem to be fit for second-in-command at first glance, so I'm hoping to see another side of him soon. Question: of what Digimon is this army composed? It helps with the visualization.

Unless I'm wrong, each of the RK has their own Zero ARMS weapon. Grani is the only canon one, I believe.

There are only two 'canon' Zero ARMS that I know of: Grani and Zero ARMS Orochi which is Susanoomon's laser sword thingy.

I've created lots of new ones for this fic, like Olivier, which comes from the name of a famous paladin.

Also, I think I mentioned the army was made of legendary warriors. If not, I apologize. What I mean by that is Digimon like Agnimon, Wolfmon, Fairymon, Chakkumon, Vritramon etc. Basically, the Fronier heroes and the first set of villains.

Chapter 2 here! ENJOY...or else....

CHAPTER 2: The Red Kaizer
The knights began their charge and thundered into the horde, cutting down soldier after soldier. It looked good for the capital army when a tall, hulking Greymon, clad in crimson red, armour plunged his sword into the ground. Lines of fire spread across the battlefield burning friend and foe alike. The burning trails stopped short of the city as ten blazing dragons burst from the ends of the trails and flew over the walls, scorching the archers in the process.

“God damn it...” RhodoKnightmon spat as he saw his proud soldiers writhing on the floor ablaze, living their final moments. He looked back to the city and saw the fire dragons begin their descent on the city. “The civilians...crap! Someone stop those bloody dragons!”

A raging twister burst up as if from nowhere and consumed the dragons and blew them out before the twister itself disappeared, at the bottom of it stood a huge soldier in tough dark blue armour. He had vicious, bloodthirsty eyes and wielded a huge double ended spear.

“Got ‘em.” The knight murmured before charging towards Susanoomon’s soldiers who had now pushed the knights into the city and were entering themselves. A group of soldiers noticed the brutal behemoth thundering towards them and tried to retreat, but were halted by the soldiers behind them.

“Nice work, Craniummon.” Rhodo commended as the knight blasted past him.

“Whatever.” Craniummon said as he began to tear into a group of soldiers. An Agnimon attempted to flee, but only managed a few steps before Craniummon swiped away his legs. He loomed over the Agnimon as he whimpered at the loss of his limbs.

“What...are...you....?” The Agnimon rasped as Craniummon raised his spear.

“I’m Craniummon,” The blood-soaked beast replied. “And I’m a royal knight.” The spear plunged downwards upon its target. Craniummon peered upwards to find his next target, only to find the Greymon from before heading towards him.

“A Kaizer eh? It’s been awhile since a sunk my spear into one of those.” Craniummon mumbled as he continued to re-insert his spear into the Agnimon corpse. KaizerGreymon began to run and Craniummon leapt backwards dodging a fast, but powerful swing from Kaizer’s sword. As Craniummon landed, Kaizer was already behind him.

“He’s fast.” Craniummon exclaimed before KaizerGreymon slashed his back. Craniummon yelled out and fell to his knees in pain. “I see...your sword creates shallow wounds, but also creates a...spark, briefly setting the wound alight. This is done to give your foes an excruciating death. You’re just like me...” Kaizer laughed.

“Me? Like you? I am a Greymon!” KaizerGreymon began. “I am a proud, decent warrior, not a bloodthirsty behemoth who lusts for battle. I am better than you in every way you can possibly imagine. Because of that, there is no way I can lose to you. You will die today Craniummon and you shall beg for mercy by the end of it!

“Dukemon, I need some support pronto!” Magnamon bellowed across the war zone.

“Just...a...sec!” Dukemon replied as he plunged his lance into a Vritramon. Grani flew over to Magnamon’s position, firing his cannon in conjunction. “Do not fear! I, Dukemon am here to help.”

“Shut up, stop being a noob and that catchphrase sucks! Just blow these guys up, let’s go home and watch Naruto. I heard Itachi comes back in this one!” Magnamon replied as he launched several plasma missiles from his armour.

“Well, I’m offended,” Dukemon stated, as his shield began to glow. “First, you call me a noob,” Dukemon’s Aegis began to emit a strange, high-pitched noise. “THEN, you dis the catchphrase. It’s staying.” The shield shot a huge beam of energy that blasted a line through the entire width of the enemy army.

“Still want to watch Naruto?” Magnamon asked.

“Oh, hell yeah!” Dukemon replied as he flew away towards another group of foes.

Craniummon fell for the fourth time, another burnt gash had been carved into him, this time, across his left arm. KaizerGreymon stood on his head and forced down.

“How much does it hurt now? Huh? How much?” KaizerGreymon laughed as he looked down upon the felled brute.

   “A lot....” Craniummon rasped.

   “How much?” KaizerGreymon repeated patronisingly.

“I...said...A LOT! AND IT FEELS REAL GOOD TOO!” Craniummon roared as power rushed through his body and he exploded with energy. KaizerGreymon was launched off Craniummon who was  now standing, breathing deeply and maniacally. “SHIELD ME! ZERO ARMS: AVALON!” Avalon appeared in Craniummon’s left hand. It was a black shield with a red outline and had a strange, elongated skull design in the centre.

“I’ll admit, you have an incredible physical strength,” KaizerGreymon began. “But I’ve cut your back twice already. That shield won’t help you.

“Hah,” Craniummon spat. “You really don’t have a clue about the Zero ARMS do you? Each Zero ARMS, apart from being a useful tool, also comes with an add-on that boosts one of your attributes...Dukemon’s Grani increases the power of his shield beam thingy he does, Magnamon’s Olivier gives him more power and Rhodo’s shield, Athena gives him strengthened armour, however, he tends to keep Athena out at all times in case of ambush or assassination. Hmph! The paranoid bastard...” KaizerGreymon wore a face of fear as he heard the powers of a Zero ARMS and knew he needed to ask the question, yet fearing the answer.

“W-What about you?” KaizerGreymon asked, quivering.

“Me?” Craniummon smirked. “I get faster,”  Craniummon disappeared and appeared behind KaizerGreymon. “A lot faster.” KaizerGreymon turned swiftly and the two began to tear across the battlefield, matching each other, blocking every blow. Craniummon briefly stopped and disappeared once again, showing the true speed he could obtain from Avalon. KaizerGreymon stopped. He scanned the area. Craniummon haad gone from sight.

“Coward!” KaizerGreymon roared before he heard a maniacal laugh from above him. He looked up to see Craniummon’s spear raining down towards him. He dropped his sword and was paralyzed with fear and shock. The end came swiftly.

RhodoKnightmon’s ribbons shaved another soldier down, but yet more soldiers thundered into the city; the number of Knightmon had fallen significantly. Magnamon and Dukemon, absent of Grani, came to Rhodo’s side.

   “Where’s Grani?” Rhodo asked.

“He’s out of juice,” Dukemon replied. “Besides, I now get to show these bastards what I’m made of personally.” Suddenly, the enemy hordes pulled back slightly.

“What the hell? They’ve stopped.” Magnamon shouted as the battlefield went silent. Out of the hordes came Susanoomon, the shaman lord himself, walking slowly, yet purposefully. “Oh sh...” Magnamon began, but Susanoomon had deliver a titanic punch to his gut. Magnamon staggered backward and Susanoomon followed up with a kick to the chest, knocking Magnamon flying backwards.

“Magnamon!” Rhodo shouted and ran to punch Susanoomon, who grabbed his arm and launched him into high into the air and after about three seconds, Rhodo landed upon Magnamon.

“Lord Ogudomon...I serve only you...” Susanoomon mumbled as he began to walk into the city, his army still motionless. Magnamon and RhodoKnightmon staggered to their feet, however, they were in no condition to fight at all, let alone against Susanoomon. As Susanoomon walked Dukemon blocked his path. “What is this?” he asked calmly.

“You’ll go no further!” Dukemon roared, breathing heavily.

“And why is that?” Susanoomon replied.

“Because, I, Dukemon will not let you!”

“I must admit,” Magnamon began. “That time, it was kinda’ badass.”

Well this is interesting... the 'Shaman Lord' himself is naught more than a General in Ogudomon's army? I find it interesting that he's up for fighting already... is Magnagarurumon not below him in rank, or does he just want to crush them as fast as possible without losing another subgeneral?

--

I can see Magnamon and Dukemon watching Naruto fine, but if there's going to be an obsessor on anime I think Omegamon (Power of Courage! Power of Friendship! UNITE!), Ulforce (I'm an ancient holy dragon with a laser sword and lasers and, I don't know, the power of time) or Examon (Power of Ground! Power of Wings! UNITE... I got nothing) fits best.
I love Craniamon's Blood Knight personality, reminds me of General Zokalo from DGM. Still, being a Blood Knight, wouldn't he want to know about his comrades' attacks more than just "Shield-beam"?

You might want to look at the Kaizergrey death scene though, he switches from cocky to scared waaay too fast.

The reason I had Magnamon and Dukemon talk about Naruto was to kinda portray the fact that they're the younger knights and for a bit of comic relief.

I wanted to portray Craniummon as a brutal and terrifying anti-hero, who doesn't really care what the others are doing as long as they win. Also, KaizerGreymon was meant to get scared easy 'cause he'd never doubted himself before (I'll be going into that in a later flashback arc so I don't want to spoil it now).

Also, I got a little suprise in store for Susanoomon so be ready for it! Grin
