My laptop recently having the blue screen of death problem, I'm not sure what actually caused it so I might as well ask here. How do one actually cause the BSoD? How many ways are there? How many solutions are they? Is there any solution at all? But after the restart the screen goes white for longer than 2 minutes and then windows only start up properly...and because I can use properly now, I'm not sure how I did it....

On a modern computer, it is probably some sort of hardware problem.

God of War Lu Bu, of all the heroes, who is more fearless than you on the battlefield, and who more unafraid of death? And of all the heroes, who dares trample on their pride like you have? They don't understand one simple logic - what good is reputation if you are dead? You truly are the pinnacle of both brains and brawn.

So would you suggest replacing the hardware or is there anything one can do to prevent it...?

Well, what kind of computer do you have?

I had a similar problem. I'm on an HP dv6000, and after about a year, my computer started majorly lagging, and maybe three times a week I would get the Blue Screen of Death. I contacted HP after it started getting on my nerves, and apparently there was a malfunction with all of the computers of my model, and three or four other models.

Basically what was happening, was that the mother board was overheating. Maybe you have a similar problem?

My best suggestion is to try and contact the maker, and see if there have been any reported problems, and if they're willing to look at it for you.

Thanks KingDusk. I think it's best to refer to the maker or seller.

Well, what kind of computer do you have?

It's BenQ Joybook S41 with OS Windows Vista(TM) Home Premium Service Pack 2. Processed by Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T7250 @ 2.00GHz, memory (RAM) is 2.00GB and system type is 32-bit Operating System.

Usually it's hardware error, software conflict or driver conflict.

Well...there's this PC you are using, and suddenly it hangs for some seconds and then your screen turns blue with some words shown like in the command prompt...and restarts the PC and says that your windows didn't shutdown properly...So...it's pretty common for a person to freak out when this happens but it's also pretty common to Windows OS through the world. Problems maybe cause of overheating or hardware clashing...my case was overheating for months, and I wasn't aware of it....
