BUMP. Because, for some reason, I really like this topic.
--
D.Gray Man is my favorite anime of all time. Might have its nonsensical parts, might seem a little cliche at first, but it's really very good. - Good plot - Very addicting. The war between the Noah and Akuma, against Humanity and Exorcists, is really well filled out. Although Exorcists are very powerful, there are literally millions of Akuma to balance out. - Interesting quirks that add life to characters (and are actually explained and all) - Allen is a heavy eater because his Innocence feeds on his life force, Kanda hates everyone because * (spoiler content), Lenalee smiles too much because she was kidnapped and went insane in order to become an exorcist... - EPIC MUSIC - Do I really have to say anything more? - Huge arsenal - so many different weapons, each with its own unique specialties. - Nice art - very pretty. - Not a vampire - Krory is just awesome and he's not sparkly or Leather Pants guy or anything thank god - You're evil too - *spoiler content - Big black trenchcoats and military organization - ... whaaaat, I like to wear them. They're comfortable - "Useless" power - TYKI. MIKK. The power to touch only what you wish... it's not popular, probably not thought of at all by most, but that is seriously an epic way to use it. - Sadistic enemy - Road likes to see you screaming and will drink your blood. Because she thinks you look cute when you're in pain. -Interlude - Occasional, and well placed. - Weird pet - Timcanpy, and he's actually explained - That one guy - Cross Marian has two Innocence, knows sorcery, is the only one the Earl ever feared, can move faster than the speed of light with a gun, can redesign Akuma to his will, knows too much, *spoiler content. But he's still a womanizing jerk.
There's just too much awesome to list about D.Gray Man. So for stuff I don't like... - All guys few girl - They have a lot of guys and then there's just Lenalee, Miranda, Cloud, and some of the Noah. - Krory should have been stuck in blood form... that body is way too fragile - strange science - some of it doesn't match other parts of it occasionally. It's just part of the fun but still...
So yeah. D.Gray Man is really good. Others I liked included FMA, FMA:B and Digimon (of course) but D.Gray Man is special to me.

FMA. It was the first anime I actually watched start-to-end, probably because I torrented it. However, start to finish, dub or sub, I loved FMA. It had a beautiful plot, an amazing theme, likeable characters, and despicably evil baddies.

My first major anime that I watched was Naruto, as I grew up a generation after the anime boom of the 90s. Dragonball GT ended when I was pretty young, so Naruto is what introduced me to anime in general. I've...kind of dropped it at this point, but it's still very important to me.

Well. This is interesting.
The first anime I ever watched was Saint Seiya, but I watched it in Spanish so it was called Caballeros del Zodiaco.
There are a hundred different things that I love about this series but if I had to pick one, it would be the Mythology behind the series. The whole concept of Armors created in the image of the constellations. The whole idea of Cosmos. Every human being is born with a mini universe and we have the ability to expand it gathering energy. It's a new take on an old classic.
Saint Seiya impacted my life.

The greatest anime I've seen is still Wolf's Rain. This will most likely never change. But Cowboy Bebop is close behind.

FLCL destroyed my cerebral cortex.
So I guess that counts as being quite important; I was never the same after that.

“So…If you’re a Vampire, then how do you survive in the sun?” “Oh, the sun thing. That’s just a bedtime story people tell their kids so they’ll feel safe in the daytime. In reality, it does nothing but give us sunburns. Then, once we shed our skins, we feel fine.” I almost choked on my milk. “You shed your skin? Like a snake?” “No, That’s just what I call peeling. It freaks people out. Like you for instance.”

Nostalgia FTW. I'm not sure how to decide whether an anime was important to me or not, but I can list a few that are close to my heart. 1. Pokemon. It's the first anime I ever got into (back when I was 8.) To this day, I still get choked up when I hear any Pokemon-related music. (P.S. Gen 3 & 4 are EVIL. Here's hope for Gen 5...) 2. Digimon. Obviously. 3. I guesss... DragonBall. I watched DragonBall Z a few years back (and even to this day. ^_^ Currently watching episodes of Kai) and I remember it being epic. I took it only as an "action beat-em-up superhero show" and was left pleased at the end of the day. And as a bonus, i'm currently listening to Take the Stage!! Ginyu Special-Squad!! T'is cool... tokusentai.4. I'm into Naruto, Kenichi: The Mightiest Disciple, and One Piece as well, but I feel this is too recent. Nontheless, I love these and the above listed series very much. They're fun to watch, I like the action, story, characters, and at times even the music. TokusentaiIn short. WHEEE! I'M A LITTLE KID AT HEART!!

Fullmetal Alchemist (According to manga, I don't give a damn to the first anime.): It shows how important life is. It teaches me a lot of things about life...the other one would be Ar Tonelico 2's story not really a full anime though...And themes...they are too flawless...at least for me I think so.
Digimon (Overall). Well, it plays an important role in my childhood...I learn real relationships between friends. Even it's just childhood friends who's gonna leave you forever one day...similar ones are from Pok'emon, Medarots...you know the ones who usually a person but has a competitive thingy like robot/monster/toys/cards...alien...inspires me technology and also new designs in things...
Naruto did taught me things above but I don't feel that much but I learn how important history is....also inspires me a lot to write stories as well as being ninja, I like being a ninja. The fights? freaking awesome.
And awkwardly...Ranma1/2....It just make me curious what is like to be girl...it makes me wanna understand what a girl is like....the battles in it...it's awesome, the drama is better. IMO, better than the later product named Inuyasha.
I think that's that...sometimes it changes...

There are five that for me, were the most important to me.
1: Poke'mon. The original show was my first exposure to anime ever. Hate the series now, but to me, the original episodes are still fine, goofy entertainment. James FTW!
2: Digimon. Duh. But Tamers specifically captured my imagination. It still has to this day.
3: The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Confession time. I don't watch a ton of anime. Or at least I didn't until last year. It was then I discovered an anime called The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Loved it. Haruhi showed me how beautifully-drawn and well-written anime could be. Who doesn't identify with Kyon? My avatar is his female version for crying out loud! haruhi, to me, and it's spin-off Haruhi-Chan (A web-series spoof), are great achievements for anime as a genre.
4: Naruto. Love it, love it, love it. And I'm a recent convert, but I have read up on just about everything that has happened in the story. I love the characters, the designs, and the setting and story. Sure, it's not an artistic triumph or perfect by any measure, but it is entertaining and cool. However, I hate (most of) the flashbacks and filler eps with all my heart!
5: Ranma 1/2. This was the first manga I ever read, and the anime is just as fun and entertaining. Ryuga is my favorite character btw. Can't get enough of this series! I wish there was more new Ranma merchandise and stories coming out today!
6: Gurren Lagaan. Just started watching this a couple of months ago. I adore this show. Leeron, Kamina, and Simon are personal faves. Love the mechas, love the art style, and love the set-up. And now, I have made it to part 2, and hoo-boy. It's a whole new ball-game. I love this series and look forward to every new episode I see. Plus, try getting that theme song out of your head!
